 October 28, 2009October 26, 20092ne1’s full album is due in 2010Our girls are releasing their full album in 2010! Originally YG Entertainment had said that the album would be released November of this year, but due to some scheduling conflicts and other problems, the release for their full album has been moved back to 2010. Since the album is delayed, YG says to expect that the album will be full of great songs. October 19, 2009Park Bom making her solo debut!Seems like Bommie is making her solo debut! She is set to release her own single at the end of October. The track will be R&B, and she will also film a music video along with the single. Park Bom is the 2nd 2ne1 member to release a single album, the other one being Sandara Park. There have been hints of her going solo since her days as a trainee since she has a beautiful unique voice. Not many details have been released yet but stay tuned to 2ne1 US Fansite for more details!
October 12, 2009Sandara Park on family outing
Sandara Park will be on the Korean variety show, “Family Outing” along with UEE of the group, After School. The show will be filmed sometime in October but the release date of their episode has not been decided. So far, Sandara Park has only appeared on one other variety show “Strong Heart / Kang Shim Jang” along with her fellow 2ne1 band members. UEE on the other hand has appeared in several variety shows such as “We Got Married” and “Star King.” October 1, 2009Teddy denies plagiarism on 2ne1 songsFollowing the reports that YG Entertainment whose artists include G-Dragon and 2NE1 has received notification letters concerning infringement of copyrighted materials from a local copyright holder, Teddy (HongJoon Park), the composer and producer of 2NE1’s “I Don’t Care,” had an exclusive phone interview with AM 7 on the 24th to express his position on the issue. Whenever there was a dispute over plagiarism, it was usually the label (who has the neighboring copyrights) who released statements to acknowledge or deny the accusation. This is the first time that the composer, the copyright holder, has spoken about his position. In the interview, Teddy said firmly that he did not plagiarize, responding to the claims that there are similarities between the chorus parts of “I Don’t Care” and “Just Go” from Lionel Richie’s album released last year. He said, “I did listen to the Lionel Richie song following the controversy over “I Don’t Care.” You can’t say it is plagiarism just because the feel, not the melody, of the two songs are similar.” He stressed, “Two people living on the opposite sides of the world could have similar facial features. It is not right to say it is plagiarism just because the feel of the songs are similar. “I feel frustrated that some people are convinced that I used the Richie song as a reference, if not plagiarized,” he added. Teddy is a member of the hip hop group 1TYM and has been with YG Entertainment for over 10 years, writing and/or arranging most of the hits by YGE artists. He arranged Se7en’s “I Know” (2006) and Big Bang’s “Sunset Glow” (2008) and wrote and arranged TaeYang’s “Look Only at Me” (2008), Um JeongHwa’s “D.I.S.C.O.” (2008), and 2NE1 and Big Bang’s Lollipop (2009). He says, “When you write a song and if that song is similar to another song then it is the composer’s responsibility to make changes. The mv features acting performances by Dara and Lee Min Ho of Boys Before Flowers. Sandara Park’s first single has been getting a lot of attention from fans and rave reviews from critics. I absolutely loved the MV. The only thing I didn’t really like was Lee Min Ho’s hairstyle! They stated “For this advertisement, Sandara Park, who was known previously for debuting as Philippine’s Boa, breaks away from the pure and innocent, typical long haired smiley girl. The sexy smokey-eyed kid, with her high standing fountain ponytail, tattered and ripped skinny jeans, bold and vivid colours, has a style matches well with the youthfulness that Cass is focused on. Her ex and her kept in contact after their break up. Since 2ne1 took a break from promotions, Dara took a trip to the Philippines to meet again with Mr. Bitangcol. Dara and Joseph met while they were on a Filipino version of “We Got Married,” a TV show where two people act as a couple. During the show, the two actually found chemistry and started a long-term relationship (3 years). Regarding their reunion this month, “when I arrived at the venue where we were supposed to meet, I got excited because it had been such a long time since I last saw her. I immediately wanted to talk to her to give my greetings and congratulate on her success. … When time passed, we managed to bond more. We were supposed to go out again the next day but eventually we had to cancel it because her schedule was so packed and she had to return to Korea soon.” The Filipino actor went on to admit, “when we saw each other … there was a bit of awkward shyness. But it turned out okay. She also felt shy. I can’t easily begin conversation with her because for every little chance that I try to initiate the talk, our friends would immediately tease us. They’d begin whispering then they would tease us all over. Then I started the conversation. I asked everything about her current life. I asked how her family is doing. I also asked about the other members of her group (2NE1) like if they are being nice to her. Of course it is a group, it would be hard to avoid jealous fits.” Bitangcol has followed Sandara’s 2NE1 successes on Youtube and admitted that he was a fan; he said that he was proud of his ex-girlfriend because, though she had left the Philippines for a career in her birth country, she still visits from time to time. “That is actually the pleasing part because even though she got popular, she never forgets. The fact that she chose to go here when she was given a vacation even if she could freely go to other countries” And the million dollar question – will/can the duo get back together? “Because of the current state of her career, it would be impossible. But I am not denying the possibility. The feelings are still there. It truly feels different when you see the person. The feeling suddenly comes back. For now, what’s important is that we have good careers. I am okay here and she’s okay there. Only time could tell if we’re truly meant to be.”
August 21, 2009Sandara has a new admirerOur beloved Sandara Park recently received a love confession from Choi Min Hwan from FT Island, who’s only sixteen years old. Recently she’s also gotten the same confessions from 2AM’s maknae Jinwoon and 2PM’s Woo Young. Both of whom are younger than her. FT Island members appeared on KBS JOY “Ent News – VIP Interview” which airs today. On the program each member revealed their ideal girl. Choi Min Hwan said “2NE1’s Sandara Park catches my eyes lately. Even though I never got to talk to her, I like her. If there is time, I want to have tea with her.” Seems like Dara is a hit with the younger guys.
August 16, 2009Check out girl groups dance battle!Performers from KARA (nicole), Brown Eyed Girls (Ga-in), 4Minute (HyunA), and our beloved 2ne1 (Minzy!) performed on SBS Inkigayo. Each performer did a short solo dance to a popular song. I loved the performances because I’m also a fan of KARA’s nicole. Great stuff ladies!
